The three stages of Intuitive Development and how they affect your happiness.

When it comes to getting to know ourselves on a deeper level, we need to be ok with navigating a process which has no handbook. The journey is unique and individual and will be different for everyone. In saying that, in my coaching practice, I have seen three distinct levels of intuitive and spiritual development which have a significant impact on people’s levels of happiness. The first stage is what I would refer to as the Initiate. In this stage, we are still living from our ego and the rational mind. We tend to judge things as good or bad, black or white and can be very definitive in our thought processes. It’s the nature of the ego to endeavour to keep us safe. This can create feelings of separation that the world outside of us is not secure, and we need to be protected against it. For example, this can show up as people believing they need spiritual protection from others. There is often a lot of control in this first stage, such as needing to control others behaviour and even our own, as to how we show up with others. We wear masks to protect ourselves from the …

Growing your spiritually based business.

Are you still working in a job when your heart and soul are calling you into your purpose? I work with women who are wanting to leave behind work that drains them and start moving into work that inspires them. However, what I have noticed about my clients is that they can get stuck in the transitition process. They want to move from that regular pay check but they are not where they want to be in order to feel secure to jump into working for themselves full-time. They have offers but they are not but they are not being picked up by people. This doesn’t mean what they are offering doesn’t have any value. It just means they’re not getting infront of the right people….and using the right language to inspire people to look deeper. This can be frightening as it starts eating away at their self confidence and it doesn’t feel good. They start thinking that their job is their only option. They think that somehow they don’t have what it takes to make the leap and do what they love. What’s the best way to grow your spiritually based business? You need to focus in the right …

Notes on being authentic.

I remember having a conversation with my Mum and telling her that going to work at my banking job meant I had to “get up and put armour on everyday”. Sounds heavy, doesn’t it? Little did I know that I was essentially saying to my own mother, hey, I’m choosing to be inauthentic.  I was playing a game, wearing a mask and wondering why I felt so miserable. It took me forever to have the insight to realise I was choosing to go to a job that wasn’t in alignment with my values. It wasn’t something that could be blocked off, although goodness knows I tried. There was shopping, food, drinking, stress and unhealthy relationships to pull my attention away from my misery.  I was choosing to show up for 37.5 hours a week for a job that made me miserable. It wasn’t because of the job. It was because I couldn’t do that job and be ME.  There were clues. I had a gazillion motivational quotes plastered on the wall behind my computer monitor that I would gaze at throughout the day and draw strength from. The unhappiness was a clue, once I started to realise that my emotions …

What the Universe wants you to know when you’re having a hissy fit.

Do you ever find yourself having a hissy fit? You know that feeling when you get triggered or your stuff comes up? The feeling when you know your ego is blocking and resisting your soul? Have you ever felt ashamed for feeling BAD? That somehow the Universe must be watching you and shaking it’s massive head in judgment of you and your inconsequential drama? Well, I’m speaking from experience. It surprises me that we don’t see more of this in public forums like Facebook or social media. I mean, seriously, don’t you ever get frustrated that you can’t figure out what life means? That it can seem like a never-ending cascade of challenges that we’re somehow supposed to rise to, often without even feeling like we have a map, let alone a compass?! I’ve ranted and raged at the Universe plenty of times. I mean PLENTY. I have always been the person who wanted to KNOW. I used to ask my chaplain in religious studies at school ” So, how did Jesus walk on water?” I was such a cynic. I wanted someone to explain it to me.  This is what I have learned. It’s so mindblowing beautiful. Everytime I’ve …

Dealing with imposter/fraud syndrome.

I had lunch with a friend today who is also an entrepreneur. It’s so valuable to me to connect with liked minded people who are also facing the same challenges on how to navigate through their business and their life.  I shared with him that I had watched a video recently of someone on Facebook who was exploring some quite deep emotional work with her tribe. She got asked a question she couldn’t answer. It was very clear she was out of her depth.  It was a curious observation for me. I know what it’s like to feel out of your depth. Haven’t we all? We can place so much pressure on ourselves to know all the answers and come up with the solutions, especially when we are wanting to help people.  However, if we are not careful this dynamic can slide us straight into imposter syndrome, also known as feeling like a fraud. Who are we to show up and give people our advice? It can naw at our deepest feelings of inadequacy.  This is where we need to be discerning and to be fair, we can only do the best we can in any given moment. However, I …

Can you be an introvert and be BOLD in business at the same time?

Yes.  That’s the short answer.  So, how does this work?  As an introvert I know what it is to feel that the sofa at home is the safest place in the world. How then, do we go about creating wonder in our lives and in the world? One thing is for sure, it’s not going to happen if we stay on the couch. We have to get ourselves out there and share our magic with others. We need to be courageous and bold enough to say to ourselves that our magic is unique, that it’s enough and that by sharing it will make other people’s lives better.  How do we actually do this though? Here are some guiding principles for my other introverted friends who are in business for themselves.  You gotta believe in something bigger than yourself. There is NO way I could have created my business if it was just down to ME. Yes, we all need those people who can coach us, support us, encourage us and even laugh at us (which, with wisdom, you can turn into motivation) to help move us along our path. However, that doesn’t always help you get out of bed in …

Practicing Gratitude…when you don’t feel grateful.

As an Intuitive Coach it’s my job to bring the light, the love and the inspiration. I help people to raise their vibration and to live an inspired life, one filled with pleasure, freedom and abundance.  One of the fastest ways to do this, we are taught, is through practising gratitude.  BUT what happens when you DON’T FEEL grateful? When you’ve experienced a  whole bunch of shitty situations? Perhaps it’s been a heartbreak or some thing devastating? The loss of a loved one or child? It maybe just the day to day stuff.  The cat is sick and the washing machine has broken down and Tommy is grizzly and your boss is on your arse about a deadline? Where is there even TIME to practise gratitude?  It’s enough to want make you want to shove that gratitude somewhere the sun don’t shine.  So, what to do?  Gratitude was the first thing that came into my awareness as I started to go deep into my personal development journey. Back in the day, MindValley or Finer Minds as it was known in the early days, created something called a Gratitude Journal. The idea was that every day you would log into a …

Making Sex Sacred

To take sex from ordinary to supersonic we must allow for the Divine into our sex lives. My understanding of sex is that it is an exchange of energy, a communication between me, my partner and the Divine. In it’s perfect completion it results in the miracle of new life so sex in itself is an act of creation. So the question is, what are you creating? Or if sex is a form of communication – what are you saying? Everything is energy so to transform sex into the supersonic and something beyond ourselves then you must invite spirit to be with you when you are in the act of creation, make it a conscious part of your love making. So how do you create more joy, intimacy, and harmony in your sex life? 1) I can’t stress this tip enough – get clear. Let go of any shame, guilt or lower vibrations from your sexual self. Anywhere there are limiting beliefs or conflicts, connect to source energy and ask for them to be cleared from your field. Set the intention that you are now brand new and clear, allow source energy to move through your body and take all …

Saying YES! to Abundance

Are you turned on when it comes to money? I recently asked this in a FB post – “Do you love money?” Most people said yes. A few said no. However, the curious thing was that even though most people said yes, are they acting and behaving in a way that demonstrates that they truly love money? Intuitively, the answer is no. When you love money you don’t come to that relationship with FEAR. When you’re in relationship with a person and they are running the energy of fear it feels kind of icky, right? They’re not in their power and it makes you feel awkward too. It’s the same with MONEY. Do you know what it means to consciously create a CARE-FUL relationship with money where you are bringing care, love and attention to how money FEELS? After working in a bank for 13 years I learned a lot about how wealthy people acted when it came to their relationship with money. They trusted it and they trusted themselves to be able to create it. They took action to have it come into their lives. It never fails to amaze me how people can get caught up in wanting …

Spiritual Bypass – Are you doing this?

Ok, to start, what is spiritual bypass? We can’t know if we’re doing or not doing something if we don’t know what it is! Before I put my spin on it, here’s what Wiki told me.. “A spiritual bypass or spiritual bypassing is a “tendency to use spiritual ideas and practices to sidestep or avoid facing unresolved emotional issues, psychological wounds, and unfinished developmental tasks”. The term was introduced in the early 1980s by John Welwood, a Buddhist teacher and psychotherapist” Thank you, Wiki. Amd John Welwood. How does spiritual bypass present itself in my world as an Intuitive Coach? Mostly through the ego. Do you know someone who thinks they have it all handled and that they’re “above” this stuff? That emotions are for wimps? That you just need to snap out of it and suck it up? I had a client work with me once to essentially prove to herself that I was wrong and her way of seeing the world was right; i.e. that the rational mind trumps the intuition. It sure can – if you are choosing to live that way. I tried it myself, for about 35 years. I didn’t like it personally. It always …
